Our cartridges are short standard international cartridges. They fit a great many fountain pens, but not all of them. Here's how to tell whether yours is one of them before you order.
What "standard international" means
Most European pen makers use the same shape of cartridge, called standard international. It comes in two lengths: short, which is what we send, and long. A pen that takes standard international cartridges almost always takes the short ones. Many full-size pens hold a spare short cartridge in the barrel, too.
Several of the big Japanese and American makers use cartridges of their own design instead. Those pens can't take ours.
Pens that take our cartridges
- Kaweco: the Sport, Classic Sport, AL Sport, Liliput and others. Pocket pens like the Sport are made for short cartridges, which is why we chose them.
- Pelikan cartridge pens, such as the Pelikano and Twist
- Faber-Castell and Graf von Faber-Castell
- Caran d'Ache
- Waterman
- Visconti, Montegrappa and Monteverde
- Conklin, Edison, Delta and Stipula
- J. Herbin pens
- Many inexpensive pens, including most Jinhao models
Pens that don't
These makers use their own cartridges, so ours won't fit:
- Lamy
- Pilot and Namiki
- Platinum
- Sailor
- Parker
- Cross
- Sheaffer
- Aurora
Not sure?
Check the cartridge your pen came with. If it's labelled "international" or "standard international", ours will fit. If it carries the pen maker's own name and shape, it probably won't. Pens that fill only from a bottle, such as piston fillers, can't use cartridges at all.
A few individual models are exceptions to their brand, so if in doubt, look up your pen's manual or write to us with the make and model and we'll tell you.
No pen that fits?
