Shipping policy

When envelopes are posted. Orders open on 1 November 2026. The first envelopes, Nº 001, are posted in the first week of January 2027 (on or about 5 January) to everyone who orders by 27 December 2026. After that, a new envelope is posted on or about the 5th of each month.

Orders after 27 December 2026. Orders placed after the cut-off begin with the next month’s envelope.

How we post. Within Canada, envelopes travel by Canada Post Lettermail. To the United States and elsewhere, they travel by small packet. Lettermail isn’t tracked; each envelope is posted on the date above, and Canada Post usually delivers within 2 to 9 business days in Canada.

All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Duties and taxes outside Canada. For the United States, duties are paid in advance, so there’s nothing to pay on delivery. Elsewhere, your country may charge import duties or taxes on arrival; those are yours to pay.

Your address. Please check your address at checkout. To change it, email bonjour@bienavous.ca before the 1st of the month, so we can post that month’s envelope to the right place. Monthly subscribers can also update it in their account.

Gifts. When you give A Year of Ink, enter the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address. We write the recipient an announcement by hand and post it to them before January, so they know a year of ink is on its way and who it’s from. To have it arrive before Christmas, order by Friday, 18 December 2026.

Lost post. If your envelope hasn’t arrived 15 business days after the posting date in Canada, or 30 business days outside Canada, email us and we’ll send another, once per envelope.

Postal disruptions. If Canada Post is disrupted, we’ll post as soon as service resumes and tell you by email.
